31 July 2018 was the date when UPU result was released. Some were happy some were sad and disappointed like me, last year. So as one who have had experienced the disappointment and pain like you guys, I would like to share some tips in what to do next.
My situation: I was offered into UPM Applied Chemistry but I wanted medicine. For your information, I only get UPM medicine interview. So when the day UPU result was released, I was disappointed. But don't be discouraged, there's always a way. Don't give up if it's really your course.
What you can do:
1. Give up
2. Not giving up
1. Give up
2. Not giving up
If you chose give up:
Just prepare yourself mentally and physically to enter university ~ 😂

If you choose to not give up:
1. Appeal
- *Prepare a letter to university to mention that you want to enter XX university XX course and state the reason(s) you want to enter the uni.
- *Prepare a letter which is written by someone such as your lecturers or teacher as the recommendation letter.
- After getting your letter done, bring the letters to the respective university and try to hand it in to the DEAN personally.
- The tactic is to find the dean ALWAYS, DAILY if possible.
- To be honest, there will be bunch of people writing letter to the dean/university daily. And to find DEAN daily is to make them have you in their mind especially the dean. 😂😂
- The chances are actually very low😅 Because the available spaces are fulled and maybe quota reduced, so you only have chance when someone did not show up for the course during orientation week
- Therefore, I think the most crucial part is during orientation week. Since you also get XX university, you may try entering that university first and then find the dean daily during orientation week until the dean accept you.

2. Besides that, I also wrote letters to other local university that offers medicine, but none reply me.
3. Find any double degree courses or self funding courses offered by local government universities. Apply first and attend the interviews, choose later. As I know for medical school:
UKM UNPAD - 6 years double degree medical programme (recommended)
UKM - 5 years medical programme
USM KLE - 5 years medical programme
4. Find any private institution in Malaysia or overseas offering the courses you want.
5. Seek help from other seniors and school counsellors.
6. Discuss the problem with your family about your financial support.
7. You may try to seek help from political parties, some might help you to appeal.
8. You can try to email/call the respective university to ask for the reason of rejection and also the proper procedure to appeal.

Finally, good luck and wishing you the best in getting the course you wanted.
