I do feel grateful that I can enter a well-known primary and secondary school - SJK(C) Sam Tet and SMJK Sam Tet. It's a famous Chinese school in Ipoh, Perak. Secondary school is the place where it shape my thoughts to dream, to be mature, to prepare myself for my university life.
I was a scout member in primary school but a red crescent member in secondary. Since young, I always wanted to be a doctor to help poor people in giving them more direct treatment and having a dream of going to poor countries to provide free treatments and medications. That's why I was a Red Crescent member in secondary school, a society which relates more to my future. This reason has been my motivation until today to go through all sorts of difficulties I faced in my studies and life.
As we know, to be a doctor, you need to work really hard in your academics and co-curriculum activities to have better chance to enter medical school. For your information, it is really tough to enter medical school, you need to go through all sorts of exams, interviews in the form of panels or OSCE (station interview), etc. I'll brief more on preparation for entry tests and exams in my next post.
If you are currently a secondary school student and you wanted to be a doctor, my advice is work hard in your studies! Score as high as you can! For now, you could also try to search for the minimum requirement needed to enter medical school. Your PMR(minor), SPM** and Pre-U ** results are really really really important!!! Don't "play play" with your results. Furthermore, be active in co-curriculum activities to get higher marks, I got a CGPA of >8.00 every year. Both academics and co-curriculum does matter your entry into medical school.
I'm also thankful that I passed my both PMR, SPM and Pre-U (Matriculation) with flying colours. PMR - 8A's, SPM 9A's, Matriculation - CGPA 4.0. I'm not boasting about my results, there's much more people better than me. The main focus is, if I can do it, you can too! Be hardworking! Seek help from others when you face problems!
Life is too fragile and too short to regret, stay focused on your dream and shape your future!
